
Janet Oh
Filmmaker | Screenwriter
anet Hyojo Oh (she/her) is a Korean American producer and screenwriter based in NYC whose work celebrates cultural identity and bridges divides through authentic storytelling. An NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate with a BA in Cinema Studies, Janet’s approach is influenced by her formative year in South Korea. Her TV pilot screenplay “We Meet Again”, which combines the fantastical and historical to explore the complex identities of the modern Korean American experience, was awarded a Finalist Grant from the NJ State Council on the Arts and recognized as a Semi-Finalist at the Flickers’ Rhode Island Film Festival and Imagine This Women’s International Film Festival. Janet serves as a judge for the prestigious Telly Awards and holds leadership positions with the NYU Arts and Entertainment Alumni Network and Junior Hollywood Radio Television Society (JHRTS NY). As a Cutter Connections mentor, she is passionate about uplifting young women entering the entertainment industry. An alum of the JHRTS NY Writers Room Program, Janet is now stepping into a Co-Showrunner role for Season 3, co-leading the initiative to mentor emerging writers and cultivate an inclusive, collaborative creative space that mirrors the real-world industry. Janet is currently planning to use her grant to produce a short proof of concept film version of “We Meet Again” while continuing her commitment to creating pathways for underrepresented voices in entertainment.
