Vanessa Hudson is a New York-based freelance director, producer, and showrunner working at the intersection of documentary, branded storytelling, and series development. Her work spans over 20 countries and a decade of filmmaking experience, guided by a core belief: that great stories can inspire people to imagine more for themselves.
Vanessa made her directorial debut with Foul Play: Dutee, a short documentary created for the Olympic Channel that premiered at festivals internationally and marked the beginning of a body of work focused on human-centered storytelling. She went on to direct and executive produce multiple original documentary series for the Olympic Channel, and later worked on the VICE News series Hunters as both a development and segment producer.
As a former creative lead at VICE Media’s branded content studio, Vanessa spearheaded award-winning campaigns for clients including New Balance, Japan National Tourism Organization, Ford, PayPal, and Laurel Road. Her work across documentary, branded, and social impact storytelling has earned recognition from the Webby Awards, the Telly Awards, New York Festivals, the Shorty Awards, Digiday, and the Addys.
